It was still funny to watch them struggle against La Tech. Though I know Tech had an excellent defense. I think TCU is set to contend for the Big XII next year. betweenthehedges: Andrew Luck should have won. He’s played 3 great seasons and all of a sudden he’s beat, two years in a row, by two players that come out of nowhere and have one good season. If it were based on that, Kellen Moore would have won it and so would Colt McCoy a few years ago.

A Modest Proposal
Boise State’s AD should call up Arizona State and say “Thanks, but no thanks.” Then he should give a call to USC’s AD to set up an exhibition game. 11-1 Boise State vs. 10-2 USC. Sounds a heck of a lot better to me. Besides, who really cares about the Las Vegas Bowl? Not me.

Interesting Perspective
I’m reading a book written in 2006 that talks about how ridiculous the BCS had become. At this point in time, A non-AQ hadn’t played in a bowl game. Even without the presence of non-AQs playing in BCS games, people were trying to change the system.

Congratulations to Alabama. 11-1 is an amazing season, especially in the SEC. I would have very much liked to see Ok State play LSU, but it’s just not going to happen. BCS History
This is the 14th year of the BCS era. In the previous 13 years, no more than two teams from outside the Top 10 have been involved in a BCS game per year.  This year, however, there are 4… 4 teams outside the Top 10 playing in BCS games. Ideally, the BCS should take all top 10 teams, because those are the top 5 bowl games. That’s only happened once, in 2010, when Texas played Alabama...

I know I would get fired
But if I were the head coach of Virginia Tech, I wouldn’t allow my team to play in a BCS game this year. And if I were at Boise I would protest the Las Vegas Bowl. It’s just flat out ridiculous. I guess it comes down to just “doing what you’re told,” no matter if it makes sense. But until something MAJOR like that happens, nothing will change.
