I hope someone loses their job this weekend.

Whoever put the LSU/Oregon game and BSU/Georgia game on at the same time should be relieved of their duties. The ratings are going to split. NCAA football needs all the positivity it can get at the moment. Having your top two match-ups on at the same time isn’t helping.

Is it possible?

Could it be possible for LSU to take 3 losses and end up on top of the SEC? I’m going to say yes. First off, LSU is playing 7 teams ranked in the Top 25. (** some polls have West Virginia at #24). I have Oregon beating them in the season opener, and I think that even West Virginia has a good chance to bring them down. They could possibly afford a loss in conference and still win the West, but that all depends on #2 Alabama. I’m not saying this is the likely scenario, but I do think it would be interesting to see a 3 loss team win the SEC. If anyone could do that, it’s Les Miles.

Parity? Very much so. The SEC East is wide open, though my money is (begrudgingly) on USC. The West is pretty even too, with Bama & LSU in front, w/ everyone else a step behind. But, much like last yr, the West is still a few years ahead of the East.

My money is on Georgia. They’ll win it with a 5-3 conference record. I say it’s time every team in the SEC gets a loss, mainly because the West is so good. Even if LSU goes undefeated in the SEC, I think they’ll lose to Oregon in week one, which could take them out of the NC race from the very beginning.

I had to make a joke for my creative writing class

Q: How many UT football players does it take to outsmart Les Miles?

A: Less than 13.

I’ve got to be honest with you; I’ve never operated with expectations.

The Quotable Les Miles.

Thanks to his combine showing, LSU’s own Patrick Peterson is now considered the #1 overall draft pick by Mel Kiper Jr.
Most other pundits are [still] debating between Marcell Dareus of Alabama and Nick Fairley of Auburn as the #1 overall selection.

Interesting… I still think it’s going to be Nick Fairley, but you can’t go wrong with any of those three.

BCS Messed up a formula

It had LSU at #10 and Boise State at #11. However, one of the guys in charge of the formulas forgot to include a game, and that made all the difference in this case. Just imagine if the #2 and #3 spot were only separated by .00046 and they got it messed up. It looks like the BCS will be in tact for the next few years. Fine. But do it right. For the sake of the game, have people check these numbers! I mean come on… You learn it in high school to always edit your work.
